ABOUT US
The Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital
was established to fulfill a long-felt need, especially
of the deprived tribals of the region. The Hospital, funded
generously by Miserior and the House of Tatas, functions under the
guidance of Governing Council, Board of Trustees and Ladies
Committee of devoted social workers. It has grown from an initial 24
beds to a present strength of 72 beds.
The Hospital is now recognised by the
Government of India as an 'Institute of Oncology and Cancer Research
& Training'. The hospital is equipped with some of
the latest treatment & diagnostic facilities and
undertakes treatment of all types of malignant and other diseases.
The Hospital and
the Diagnostic Centre have been recently computerised for more efficient
working. Besides serving the local population of Jharkhand, it
extends its services to government and non government organisations
like SAIL, HEC, HCL, CCL, ACC, IEL and the Railways. It is a
recognised referral institution and patients come from UP, MP, Orissa,
Assam, West Bengal, Nepal and many other states.
In recognition of its outstanding
performance in the field of Oncology, the Hospital has been elected
a member of the 'International Union Against Cancer' and
registered under the Society Act. |
